Our Programs

Venture Projects

Saskatchewan Agricultural Societies Program is a financial contribution program operating under terms and conditions set out in an agreement with the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport. The current program is a five year agreement and is effect until March 31, 2018. SAASE has allocated a total of $45,000 to the program. The funding will assist in developing new programs/events, enhance existing events, as well as develop new agricultural societies and bring new communities under the umbrella membership of SAASE. The focus of the new funding will be on tourism, by developing new events with a wide appeal, as well as promoting and enhancing the quality of life within communities throughout Saskatchewan.

Farm Safety Days

From 2012 – 2014 SAASE, in partnership with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture, the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association, the Progressive Agriculture Foundation and Saskatchewan’s 62 Agricultural Socities and Exhibitions, formed a 3 year partnership on a series of Farm Safety Day Camps across Saskatchewan. In 2012, because of a late start, only 2 Farm Safety Days were held – Kelvington and Lloydminster. In 2013 a total of 9 Farm Safety Days were scheduled, with 7 being held – Lloydminster, Saskatoon, Biggar, Yorkton, Swift Current, Vanscoy and Prince Albert. In 2014 safety days took place in Lloydminster, Swift Current, Yorkton, Prince Albert, Spiritwood, Weyburn, Canora, Preeceville, Meadow Lake, Kelvington, Turtleford, Saskatoon, North Battleford, and Unity. In 2015 the following days are tentatively scheduled – Prince Albert, Swift Current, Yorkton, North Battleford, Meadow Lake, Ogema, Spiritwood, Unity, Turtleford, Melfort, Biggar, Weyburn, Vanscoy, Kelvington, Kamsack, Maryfield, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw. When the program was initially set up the following was developed as the overall project goal and objectives.

SaskEnergy Volunteer Champion Awards

The SAASE Awards program is designed to recognize annually the achievements of individuals and organizations in the Saskatchewan fairs and exhibitions industry. SaskEnergy supports the Volunteer Champions Awards program, and SAASE would like to thank them for their continued commitment to the volunteers of Saskatchewan. This year’s awards will take place on February 28 in Moose Jaw. All members of SAASE share a responsibility to participate in the nomination and selection process. All members of SAASE are eligible to nominate and to receive awards. Volunteers are the lifeblood of our industry – the SaskEnergy Volunteer Champion Awards give us an opportunity to recognize those individuals who have done so much to make not only our Agricultural Societies better, but to also make our communities and province a better place to live.

AG-EXperience

The SAASE Ag Experience Provincial education display is a portable display incorporating the interactive components of the Saskatoon Prairieland Park Ag Experience display. The display incorporates educational signage with educational interactive games that students can play. There are five different agricultural sector areas identified – grains, poultry, beef, dairy, pork. Pop up displays with information are placed on 8 foot tables with the tablets and the interactive games sitting in front of the pop up display.   SAASE members host many of the largest agricultural education programs in Saskatchewan for which these displays are made available. If you are interest in having the display at your event for 2026 give the SAASE office a call to check on the availability.
